HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

The success of our 2004 Diary which has tips on how to make a difference has made us realise that we can group together to demonstrate what an impact our exhibition can make so…..look what can be done in a month.

Make a Pledge (it won’t cost you a penny – in fact it could save you money!) HOW?
We at Earth from the Air want to help you make all the difference you can by pledging to make just a small change in your lifestyle. Earth from the Air has suggested simple tips and suggestions for visitors to the exhibition and to the website, whereby you sign up to pledge to an environmentally focused issue. Ideas that can save valuable resources such as water, electricity, fuel and paper.

Pledges such as "putting a brick in the toilet cistern,” would save a third of the average family’s water use that is flushed down the toilet. Every flush uses 12 litres of water – with a brick or water filled plastic tub in your toilet cistern, you will save over 3,000 litres a year. Imagine that 30 million litres can be saved by 10,000 people!

Don’t hesitate – make a difference and make a pledge NOW

OUR PLEDGE!
From now until we close, we will try to raise the maximum amount of essential funds to enable AMREF to drill more new water wells and bring clean, fresh water to even more villagers in Africa. Help us

I pledge that by signing this form I will be making a difference by:

"WALK, CYCLE OR TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT WHENEVER POSSIBLE"

One litre of fuel can carry a person 4 miles in a large car, 31 miles in a bus with 40 passengers and 34 miles in a train with 300 passengers. A double-decker bus can carry the same number of people as 20 full cars, yet takes up just one seventh of the road space.

The UK has the worse traffic congestion in Europe and road transport is responsible for 70% of all carbon monoxide emissions in the UK. Cycling is the most environmentally sound means of transport after walking. So save your time, money and the environment and get on your bike!
